Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry that the suspension of exports of capsicums, chillies and tomatoes to New Caledonia, following the detection of Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV), has been lifted with new import requirements in place.
Summary of changes and key points
- The New Caledonia National Plant Protection Organisation, The Direction des Affaires Vétérinaires, Alimentaires et Rurales has lifted its suspension, with new requirements to demonstrate production area freedom from ToBRFV.
- Commodities affected:
- Capsicums (Capsicum annuum)
- Chillies (Capsicum annum and Capsicum frutescens)
- Tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum, also known as Lycopersicon esculentum).
- Exporters must familiarise themselves with the new importing country requirements for the export of these commodities to New Caledonia.
