Background
The Export Service is provided by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. It has been funded by the Digital Services to Take Farmers to Markets (TFTM) measure. TFTM is 1 of 5 measures within the Busting Congestion for Agricultural Exporters package.
It was announced in the Budget 2020/21 that the department would receive $328.4 million over a 4-year period to develop the Busting Congestion for Agricultural Exporters package. The package is a part of the government's Economic Recovery Program for Australia after the effects of COVID-19.
Busting Congestion aims to improve the experience of Australian agricultural producers and export businesses by:
- helping cut red tape and get products to export markets faster
- reducing the time and cost to deal with government
- supporting jobs in rural, regional and remote Australia
- help grow our agriculture sector into a $100 billion industry by 2030.
TFTM aims to deliver modern export systems. It will provide better services to Australia’s agricultural producers and export businesses by enabling us to:
- move our export systems online
- provide a digital experience – the Export Service – for transactions between exporters and government
- streamline processes
- offer faster and more cost-effective services.
Registered establishments responsibilities
- Encourage you to create an Export Service account.
- Instruction material to assist with creating an account can be found on the department’s website here.
Note: You will need a Digital Identity and myGovID to create an account and access our services. myGovID is a form of Digital Identity. It works the same way as accessing services on other Australian government agencies, such as the Australian Taxation Office.
