Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry that all plant export certificates and records, including phytosanitary certificates have been updated to reflect our name change.
Summary of changes and key points
- Following the federal election in May 2022, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment was renamed the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
- On 1 July 2022, this name change came into effect.
- Trading partners can expect changes to our name on all plant export certificates and records, including phytosanitary certificates.
- Changes to our name will also appear on our website, instructional material, Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor), IT systems and other communication material.
- Throughout July 2022, the updated certificates will be released. There will be a transition period between July and August where old and new certificates will be seen.
- During this time, any reference to our previous name should be taken as the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
- On 1 August 2022, certificates and records exhibiting either the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry logo, or the Australian Government logo must be used.
Background
On 1 July 2022, the former Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment was renamed the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry following the establishment of the new Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. To ensure all plant export certificates and records remain legally effective and valid, this name change is being reflected across these documents.
