Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry and Authorised Officers about arrangements for plant exports systems and services during the Christmas and New Year period.
Summary of changes and key points
- Our Canberra offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday period from close of business Friday, 24 December 2021, reopening on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.
- The general enquiry line 1800 900 090 will be available on a limited basis over the Christmas period as follows:
- Closed from close of business Friday, 24 December through to Tuesday, 28 December 2021
- Open from Wednesday, 29 December through to Friday, 31 December 2021
- Closed on Monday, 3 January 2022 and reopen for normal business from Tuesday, 4 January 2022 onwards.
- All regional offices and major ports will be available on a limited basis over the Christmas period as follows:
- Closed from close of business Friday, 24 December through to Tuesday, 28 December 2021
- Open from Wednesday, 29 December through to Friday, 31 December 2021
- Closed on Monday, 3 January 2022 and reopen for normal business from Tuesday, 4 January 2022 onwards.
- Inspection appointments for the period from close of business Friday, 24 December 2021, to Monday, 3 January 2022 must be requested prior to close of business on Monday, 20 December 2021.

Assessment Services Exports
- Assessment Services Exports will be closed on the following days:
- Monday, 27 December and Tuesday, 28 December 2021
- Monday, 3 January 2022.
- Assessment Services Exports will be open on the following days:
- Wednesday, 29 December 2021 through to Friday, 31 December 2021.
- Clients requiring Request For Permit (RFP) authorisations and/or certificate collections on the days where our offices are closed will be required to submit an overtime request to the Assessment Services Exports – Plant (NDH).
- Clients submitting overtime requests are required to use the following email subject header:
- Client Query – OT Application; [insert day, date, time] Client: [insert client name]
- Overtime request emails for service on 27–28 December 2021, must be sent by 2pm (AEDT) on Thursday, 23 December 2021.
- Overtime request emails for service on 3 January 2021, must be sent by 2pm (AEDT) on Thursday 30 December 2021.

EXDOC and Micor
- EXDOC Plant Programs and Micor Plants inboxes will not be monitored from close of business on Friday, 24 December 2021 to Monday, 3 January 2022. Any requests received during this period will be actioned from Tuesday, 4 January 2022.
- If you require updates or amendments to EXDOC product coding or Micor plants cases prior to close of business Friday, 24 December 2021, please send your request to the relevant team within the following timeframes:
- EXDOC coding request for plant exports must be received by close of business on Thursday, 16 December 2021 at EXDOC Plant Programs
- Micor case amendments and new cases for plant exports must be received by close of business on Thursday, 16 December 2021 at Micor Plants.
- If you have enquiries relating to plant export certification (that is, not updates to EXDOC coding or Micor cases) between Wednesday, 29 December 2021 through to Friday, 31 December 2021 please contact Assessment Services Exports – Plant (NDH).

Authorised Officer services and support
- The Authorised Officer Program (Canberra Office) will be closed from close of business on Friday, 24 December 2021, reopening on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.
- During this time:
- the Plant Exports Management Systems (PEMS) inbox will be checked daily, but only on a limited basis
- the Plant Export Training inbox will not be checked
- appointment and reappointment services will not be available.
- Emails sent to the inbox during this period will be actioned when the office reopens on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.
- The Authorised Officer (AO) hotline (1800 851 305) will continue to be manned from 6 am–10 pm (AEDT) on weekdays and 6 am–6 pm (AEDT) on weekends and public holidays, to ensure AOs are supported over the Christmas and New Year period.
- Training and assessment for AOs will not be delivered between Monday, 20 December 2021 and Friday, 7 January 2022 inclusive.
