Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to invite interested exporters to apply for tariff rate quota allocations for carrot and potato exports to Indonesia for the 2022 quota year.
Summary of key points
- Exporters wishing to access the carrot or potato tariff rate quotas (TRQs) to Indonesia in 2022 must submit a completed Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) vegetable TRQ entitlement allocation application by the end of 18 November 2021 to the Quota Administration Unit. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
- Allocations are made proportionally, based on all applicants’ export history of eligible products. Exporters should refer to Part 2 of Chapter 3 of the Export Control (Tariff Rate Quotas-General) Rules 2021 for full details.
- An allocation of carrot or potato quota for 2022 can be used for export consignments arriving in Indonesia from 1 January to 31 December 2022.

Background
The IA-CEPA carrot TRQ and potato TRQ allow access for specified volumes of eligible products to be exported to Indonesia at reduced tariff rates when accompanied by a TRQ certificate. The TRQs are administered by the department under an allocation system. Further details regarding products, tariff rates and administration can be found on the Indonesian vegetable quotas webpage.
