Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to share a report on a survey of onshore methyl bromide treatment providers and related industry members.
Key points
- Over a 4-week period from 20 August 2020 to 17 September 2020, onshore methyl bromide treatment providers and related industry members participated in a survey about a nationally harmonised framework for managing biosecurity treatments, for further information see Industry Notice 2020-59.
- Participant responses have been summarised into a report and are available at Have Your Say: A nationally harmonised framework for biosecurity treatments. We wanted to share the results so that there is a common understanding of some of the views across industry and to inform future engagement.
- The results will inform the work of the National Biosecurity Committee treatments harmonisation working group and the review of the methyl bromide fumigation methodology.
Background
The National Biosecurity Committee treatments harmonisation working group (the working group) has been established to explore a nationally harmonised framework for managing biosecurity treatments. The working group has representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, state and territory governments and Plant Health Australia.
