Purpose
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify stakeholders who interact face-to-face with the department that our three Melbourne offices will no longer be relocating to a single premises in mid-2021.
Summary of changes and key points
The following Melbourne offices will remain in operation until a new site for relocation has been secured:
- Customs House, Corner Grants and Centre Road, MELBOURNE AIRPORT VIC 3045
- 255 Melrose Drive, TULLAMARINE VIC 3043
- Lot 2/5 McClure Road KENSINGTON VIC 3031.
Background
As advised in IAN 2020-03, following a review of its future accommodation requirements, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment had selected the Younghusband Woolstore site, 10 Elizabeth Street KENSINGTON VIC 3031, as the new site for its regional office.
The negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the building and construction sector has resulted in a delay of the refurbishment work such that the expected timing of completion no longer meets the department’s needs.
The department will therefore seek another suitable site, with the specific relocation date to be confirmed when a site has been identified and secured. Approximate timing for relocation is expected to be in the first half of 2022.
