Summary of changes and key points
- The People’s Republic of China has reviewed the import arrangements for Australian produce agreed in 2017 and advised that some export pathways are no longer available.
- This has resulted in a change in import requirements and is not a suspension of trade.
- Industry are advised to continue to check the Manual of Importing Country Requirements (MICoR) to confirm the alternative export pathways.
- The department understands the impact this could have on industry and is continuing to engage with Chinese authorities to have the matter resolved as a priority.
