Purpose
The purpose of this Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise authorised officers, electronic data interface (EDI) users and exporters of changes to the Table of authorised officer job functions and EXDOC for growing media.
Summary of changes and key points
- The Reference: Table of authorised officer job functions has been updated to provide clarity around which job functions cover inspections of growing media.
- All growing media will fall under the grain commodity group in EXDOC.
Background
The department recently conducted a review of growing media being exported from Australia.
Based on the results of this review, the inspection of some growing media has been assigned to the grain commodity group FOP3001: Export inspection of woodchips and some to HAS3001: Export inspection of hay and straw job functions.
The Reference: Table of authorised officer job functions has been updated to include the types of growing media that can be inspected under each job functions.
Authorised officer responsibilities
Authorised officers who inspect growing media must ensure that they have the appropriate job function(s) for the growing media they wish to inspect.
EDI user and exporter responsibilities
EDI users and exporters must raise all growing media requests for permits (RFPs) under the grain commodity group in EXDOC.
