Purpose
The purpose of this Industry Advice Notice is to advise that the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) has released the work plan for the export of nectarines from Australia to the People’s Republic of China.
Summary of changes and key points
The work plan details export requirements for nectarines from pest free areas and those undergoing cold treatment and/or methyl bromide fumigation as a phytosanitary treatment.
Background
In 2015, the department and the General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China agreed to a new protocol of phytosanitary requirements for the export of nectarines from Australia to China.
To assist industry with meeting these requirements, the work plan for the export of nectarines to China has been developed. The work plan is now available in Micor Plants.
Exporters and authorised officer responsibilities
All growers, packers, treatment providers, exporters, departmental officers and industry authorised officers are to be aware of, and follow the conditions detailed in the workplan.
The work plan is to be referred to in conjunction with the conditions in the protocol.
