10 August 2017
Purpose
The purpose of this Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry of the implementation of a revised Industry Management Plan to supply wheat and barley to the Chinese market as of 10 August 2017.
Summary of changes and key points
The Industry Management Plan has been revised to clarify requirements for industry when preparing wheat or barley for export to China. The revised Industry Management Plan can be accessed in the Protocols section of Micor Plants.
Background
The Protocol of phytosanitary requirements for Australian wheat and barley imports into China requires Australian exporters to take measures to minimise the occurrence of pests of quarantine concern to China, including through the implementation of an Industry Management Plan.
The Industry Management Plan has been developed by the Grains Industry Market Access Forum (GIMAF) in consultation with the grain industry and the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources.
Exporter and registered establishment responsibilities
Exporters and registered establishments preparing wheat or barley for export to China must continue to comply with China’s importing country requirements. Exporters and registered establishments can register for access and view available protocol documents on the Micor Plants website.

If you have any questions regarding the Industry Management Plan please email GIMAF.
