Purpose
The purpose of this Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise the summerfruit industry that the online export registration system will be open from 3 July until 21 July 2017 for growers and packers to apply for export to China, Taiwan and Thailand in the 2017 and 2018 export season.
Treatment providers must contact the Horticulture Exports Program (HEP) directly to apply for exports to these markets.

- Growers and packers must complete their application forms through the summerfruit export registration system at www.summerfruit.com.au.
- Fumigation and cold treatment providers must contact HEP for further information.
- Grower, packhouse and treatment provider applications will close on 21 July 2017 close of business.
- Audits will commence on 25 September 2017.
- Please read through the relevant summerfruit work plans and/or protocols available in the ‘Documents’ section of the Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor).
Background
In 2017, the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) worked with Summerfruit Australia to develop an online system to improve the application and approval process for growers and packers intending to export summerfruit to protocol markets.

Exporter responsibilities
Growers, packhouses and treatment facilities applying for export approval will be audited by the department to ensure compliance with the relevant protocols and work plans. Some entities may be audited by the importing country authority.
Audits will commence from 25 September 2017. Applicants must be available during this time and have the following records available at the time of audit, where applicable:
