Purpose
To provide an update to Industry Advice Notice (IAN) 2013/07 and to invite additional export registered establishments intending on preparing and exporting canola meal and wheat bran pellets to China the opportunity to request registration audits by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), People’s Republic of China.
Key points
Establishments that have previously requested inclusion on the department’s recommendation list will be included on the updated list provided to AQSIQ. The department will provide a recommendation list of export registered establishments for AQSIQ to consider for registration. Establishments recommended by the department for AQSIQ registration may be subject to an on-site inspection by AQSIQ officials as part of the registration process. All costs associated with AQSIQ officials (travel and accommodation) are to be borne by the establishments.
Export registered establishment responsibilities
Advise Grain and Seed Exports Program by 4 April 2014 to request inclusion on the department’s recommendation list for registration by AQSIQ. Requests are to be sent to Grain Export and must include the following information:

Background
IAN 2013/07 previously advised of AQSIQ’s implementation of the Administrative Measures of Inspection, Quarantine and Supervision on Import and Export Feed and Feed Additives (AQSIQ Decree No.118).
AQSIQ has completed their preliminary assessment of Australian canola meal and wheat bran pellets for export to China. As a result, the Department of Agriculture invites additional export registered establishments intending on preparing and exporting canola meal and wheat bran pellets to China to be registered with AQSIQ.
