Purpose
To inform industry and Authorised Officers that Volume 7A of the Plant Export Operations Manual (PEOM) - Export Compliance Goods Storage (ECGS) is now accessible on the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) website.
Background
ECGS is a key export reform initiative, developed in consultation with industry, moves the point of inspection for prescribed plant products from the point of export to earlier in the supply chain. This will reduce potential delays and cost to exporters resulting from export inspection during loading.

The following procedural resources will come into effect on 15th of April 2013:

- ECGS Hazard Identification and Mitigation Survey
- ECGS Application Form
- ECGS Transfer Certificate

Export registered establishments intending to apply for ECGS approval are required to demonstrate compliance with all prerequisites detailed in the PEOM Volume 7A Export Compliance Goods Storage.
DAFF export registered establishment responsibilities
DAFF export registered establishments should familiarise themselves with PEOM Volume 7A Export Compliance Goods Storage and associated attachments.
Authorised officer responsibilities
The Authorised Officers should familiarise themselves with PEOM Volume 7A Export Compliance Goods Storage and associated attachments.
