This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) rescinds IAN 2012/11 after receiving clarification from Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development confirming that grains (consumption and stockfeed), malt and vegetables are not included in Decision 34 and do not require an import permit.
Import permits are required for seeds and plant materials for sowing/propagation and fresh fruits exported to Vietnam. Import permits should be presented to the DAFF Biosecurity authorised officer at the time of inspection to avoid delays in the clearance of plant and plant product consignments exported from Australia.
The Micor Plants database has been updated to reflect the changed conditions, view the Micor website.
