DAFF Biosecurity has been advised by the National Plant Protection Organisation of Iran of new import conditions for wheat (consumption and stockfeed) and barley (stockfeed).
Micor Plants has been updated with these new conditions and compliance with import conditions is required for phytosanitary certificates to be issued.
The conditions require mandatory fumigation of wheat and barley and additional declaration for:
- Wheat (consumption and stockfeed) – Freedom from Cocao Bean Weevil (Araecerus fasciculatus), Beetles of Trogoderma Genus (Trogoderma spp), Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica) and Witch weed (Striga spp).
- Barley (stockfeed) – Freedom from Cocao Bean Weevil (Araecerus fasciculatus), Hessian Fly (Mayetiola destructor), Bent grass Nematode (Anguina agrostis) and Beetles of Trogoderma Genus (Trogoderma spp).
Exporters of wheat and Barley to these markets must contact the Grain & Seed Export program on (02) 6272 3229 to ensure they are able to meet the fumigation requirements prior to shipment.
