This Notice is to provide guidance to exporters on meeting the import permit conditions of importing countries, specifically Indian fumigation requirements.
The Plant Quarantine of India – Schedule VI document contains a list of “Plants/plant materials which are permitted to be imported with additional declarations and special conditions.”
The schedule specifies special conditions of import (including treatments). The schedule also indicates "or by any other fumigant/substance in a manner approved by the Plant Protection Advisor."
AQIS is able to certify to the import permit when:
- All specified import conditions have been met, or
- An official letter is provided from the Plant Protection Advisor to the Government of India varying the import requirements.
If you require assistance in accessing these web pages you should contact your local AQIS office in for assistance.
