The updated version (#8) of the “Phytosanitary Certificate Completion (Exports) Work Instruction” has been released and is available on AQIS Internet site (1) Exporting Plants/Grains and Horticulture and (2) PHYTO, for use by both AQIS export staff and industry.
The Work Instruction also aligns manually issued certification with electronic certification generated through EXDOC.
Background
The “Phytosanitary Certificate Completion (Exports) Work Instruction” details the standards for the issuance of Australian phytosanitary certificates in accordance with International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) standards.
Implementation
Implementation of the standards detailed in the “Phytosanitary Certificate Completion (Exports) Work Instruction” will commence immediately.
Any exporter or agent who may identify difficulties in complying with these standards due to previously negotiated business should contact their local AQIS Export Manager, who will refer the matter to the relevant Program contact (Grain or Horticulture), AQIS Canberra, if applicable.
It is the responsibility of the exporter and/or exporter’s agent to ensure that all future business which implicates the Australian phytosanitary certificate complies with the standards specified in the “Phytosanitary Certificate Completion (Exports) Work Instruction”.
Key changes to the “Phytosanitary Certificate Completion (Exports) Work Instruction” standards are:
- Consignee details, including Letter of Credit and Notify Party details
- Place of Origin details
- Import Permit details
- Container details for Horticulture exports
- Proforma Phytosanitary certificates for Grain exports
- Additional Declarations / Endorsement
- Numbering of Phytosanitary Certificates
