Purpose
This Market Access Advice provides advice on the health certificate for the export of sugar to Thailand.
Summary of key points
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (now the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry) met with the Office of the Cane and Sugar Board, Thailand on 6 October 2021.
At this meeting it was agreed, under the Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA), consignments of sugar must be accompanied by an export certificate attesting that the product is fit for human consumption.
Export certificate template EX188B titled “Declaration and Certificate as to Condition (PDF 40 KB)” (manual only) can be used. Exporters must enter the attestation “The product is fit for human consumption” manually. Please refer to the attached certificate for guidance.
For information on how to apply for a manual certificate, please see Application for a government export certificate for non-prescribed goods)
