Purpose:
This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) users of a system change to client groups.
Summary of changes and key points:
From Monday 30 March 2025, Client group functionality will change.
- Members must now have a NEXDOC account before they can be added to a client group, prior to the Client group administrator adding them to the client group.
- If you attempt to add someone that is not registered, you will receive an error message:
User must create an account in NEXDOC before adding as a Client group member

What is a Client Group?
Client Groups allow an organisation to manage users who are using third party software to lodge export documentation. The individual from the company that initially registers the business as a client group, will automatically be the client group administrator. This person will have the permissions to manage client groups and group members.
Once a registration request is approved, that user can add client group members to their client groups.
- For more information on Client Groups please refer to NEXDOC Help webpage.
If you have any questions regarding this IAN please email the NEXDOC Helpdesk at NEXDOC@aff.gov.au.
