Key points
- Wool and feather export certification that is currently available in EXDOC will be issued through NEXDOC starting 25 November 2024.
- From 5.00pm Sunday 24 November 2024 (AEDT) certificate requests cannot be raised in EXDOC.
- The department has engaged with key trading partners on the transition to NEXDOC.

From 25 November 2024, wool and feather exporters or their agents will need to lodge all new export documentation for wool and feather products through NEXDOC. Request for Permits (RFPs) raised in EXDOC prior to 25 November that are not complete (EXDOC status COMP) will need to follow the below processes.
Consignments to the People’s Republic of China

- All certificates for China must be issued through NEXDOC from 25 November 2024.
- China has allowed for a short transition period for sea freight consignments to present EXDOC documentation issued prior to 25 November 2024.
- If you have an EXDOC certificate that requires replacing after the implementation date, you will need to contact the EXDOC Helpdesk email exdoc.helpdesk@aff.gov.au

- RFPs that are at INSP, FINL or HCRD status must be set to COMP as soon as possible after transition.
- RFPs at ORDR status in EXDOC cannot be progressed from 25 November 2024.
- If you experience issues with clearance of your consignment, please contact npgexports@aff.gov.au
Software users
The department continues to work with software providers in preparation for the release of NEXDOC for wool on 25 November 2024.
It is important that you work closely with your software provider to ensure your system needs are met and you are well positioned to commence using NEXDOC for wool and feathers from 25 November 2024.
NEXDOC service online portal
The NEXDOC portal is a direct means for exporters to apply for export documentation, with the department. The portal is accessed through the department’s online services.
The portal is a free platform offered by the department to obtain your export documentation.
Key changes to NEXDOC certification
The NEXDOC certificates will be printed on plain paper. The addition of Quick Response (QR) codes on NEXDOC certification removes the need for security paper.
For more information on certification changes, please see our website.
