Purpose
To remind processors sourcing abalone from Tasmania of their obligations to follow directions under the Export Control (Fish and Fish Products) Orders 2005.
Summary of key points
- No product from closed harvest areas can be supplied to the export chain; in accordance with the latest directions for abalone sourcing.
Sourcing/ harvesting restrictions
The department has been advised that Tasmanian abalone was taken from an area closed to harvest.
Receipt of product which is sourced from an area closed to harvest is in contravention of a written direction.
