Purpose
This Market Access Advice (MAA) notifies stakeholders of the commencement of an electronic certification (eCert) parallel exchange for fish and fish products exported to the Republic of Korea.
From 2 September 2024, certification for fish and fish products exported from Australia to the Republic of Korea will be issued via eCert parallel exchange. This means that both a paper and electronic certificate will be issued for each completed Request for Permit (RFP). Exporters are not required to provide any additional information during the RFP process, and certificates will continue to be generated as normal through the Export Documentation System (EXDOC).
Exporters will continue to be required to provide the original paper copy of the certificate to their importer until the department confirms via a new MAA that the parallel exchange is finalised. Once confirmed, certificates will be paperless and sent via eCert only.
Micor
The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) will be updated to reflect this market access advice. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made the preceding week.
The department encourages all exporters to continue to work with their importers to ensure that product meets the current Importing country requirements.
