Summary of key points
- The Special Egg Project ended on 30 June 2024. Refer to MAA 2023-09 for full details.
- The following export health certificates remain available in the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system for exporters who believe their products meet Taiwan’s importing country requirements and will be accepted for import into Taiwan (for example where exporters have obtained a valid import permit for their product):
- For table eggs, certificate template EX46TW with endorsement 5170, and
- For egg products, certificate template EX46TW with endorsement 5171.
- Exporters should exercise caution and work with their importer to ensure product meets the current importing country requirements. Egg and egg products for human consumption may not be accepted by Taiwan at import inspection and consignments sent to Taiwan are at commercial risk.
- The department continues to engage Taiwan regarding market access for egg and egg products.
- Further updates on egg market access developments with Taiwan will be provided in future MAAs.
