Purpose
To notify exporters that Australia has been approved for the export of free range eggs to Singapore, effective immediately.
Summary of key points
- Free range eggs were previously prohibited for export to Singapore.
- Following representation by the department, Australia is now approved for the export of table eggs from Singapore Food Agency (SFA) approved free-range layer farms.
- Free-range layer farms must adhere to Singapore’s biosecurity requirements, with the exception of bird-proofing requirements.
- Australian free-range layer farms interested in obtaining SFA’s approval to export free range table eggs to Singapore can submit an application dossier, through the department, as per the procedure for cage and barn laid layer farms. Applicant farms may be subject to onsite audit if deemed necessary by the SFA.
- The export of free range eggs will utilise the existing export certification for table eggs to Singapore.
- The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (MICoR) will be updated to reflect the requirements.
