Purpose
AMENDMENT NOTE: The following dot point of the ‘Summary of key points’ section of this Market Access Advice (MAA) has been amended in response to exporter enquiries.
- Exporters will be required to enter one container per line item in EXDOC.
This Market Access Advice provides information to exporters for exports of dairy products to Japan. Exporters must now request separate certificates within the EXDOC system, for each individual container number. The department is working to resolve this issue and will provide further updates where possible.
Summary of key points
- Exporters must raise separate certificates for each container number when undergoing a Request for Permit (RFP) through EXDOC.
- Multiple certificates can be raised under a single RFP, however for each container number entered into EXDOC, a separate certificate number is required to facilitate clearance at Japanese customs.
- Exporters will be required to enter one container per line item in EXDOC.
- Exporters will be required to select the option “Separate Certificate Containers” within the RFP at any status until it is finalised.
- If this is not undertaken, Japanese import officials will only receive information for the first container, per certificate.
- This notice is valid for exports of dairy products to Japan, until such a time as the issue is resolved.
- The department’s Manual of Importing Country Requirements (MICoR) page will be updated to reflect the changes to certification requirements.
- Exporters will now receive multiple certificates when they have more than one container number required per RFP.
