Purpose
To notify exporters and industry that the department is undertaking a trial of a new electronic certification system for products exported to New Zealand including dairy, fish, meat, wool, skins and hides.
Summary of key points
- The department is undertaking a trial of electronic certification for dairy, fish, meat, wool, skins and hide products exported to New Zealand.
- At this time, there will be no change to the current process for exporters, except that electronic certification will be issued in addition to paper certificates.
- Following a successful trial it is expected that certification for these products to New Zealand will move to an electronic-only system in 2018.
- This development come from a push from both the department and New Zealand to move towards electronic certification of agricultural exports.
