Purpose
To notify exporters and manufacturers of dairy products that there will be changes to the notification process of import dairy ingredients when requesting an export permit.
Notification of imported dairy ingredients used in processing dairy products
From Monday 30 October 2017, to ensure efficiency in assessing and processing Request for Permits (RFP), it will no longer be necessary to provide additional details by email to the department of imported dairy ingredients used in the manufacture of dairy products for export.
When raising RFPs that contain imported dairy ingredients, continue to select “Y” in the imported products box to ensure information provided on the permit accurately reflects the products manufactured.
If specifically requested by the department or where an importing country requires additional details of the imported dairy ingredients used, the additional details can be included in the exporter’s declaration field when submitting RFPs for the department to assess.
Background
Currently exporters requesting an export permit are required to identify if their products contain imported dairy ingredients. Where imported dairy ingredients are used exporters are required to email the department and provide details of where the ingredients originate from and in what quantity.
In an effort to streamline the department’s internal processes and ensure that there are no delays in assessing your export permit application, you will only be required to identify that the goods contain an imported ingredient (tick box), and will only need to provide additional information when specifically requested by the department in your exported products.
