Purpose
To notify exporters that the Bureau of Animal Industry of the Philippines will no longer be issuing import permits for dairy products.
Summary of key points
- Exporters will no longer be able to obtain an import permit from the Bureau of Animal Industries for processed food products of animal origin intended for human consumption, such as but not limited to:
- processed food which may contain products derived from animals and other substances that are intentionally incorporated into the food during the manufacture or preparation of the food product such as milk and milk by-products (ice creams, chocolates, chocolate drinks, pasteurized milk, marshmallows, cheese, cheddars, butter, cereals, cakes, tarts, pastries, candies, sauce with milk, soya milk, cocoa spread, coffee with milk, mayonnaise, whipping creams, egg powder, royal jelly, pasteurized eggs, noodles)
- Exporters can raise an export permit for these products by entering ‘NOT APPLICABLE’ into the import permit number field in EXDOC.
- The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (MICoR) has been updated to reflect these changes.
