This market access advice (MAA) advises that all Australian dairy establishments that were export registered with the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources on 2 March 2017 have automatically been listed with Malaysia as eligible to import dairy products into this market.
Establishments who attained export registration after 2 March 2017 and wish to send products to Malaysia will need to apply to Malaysia’s Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) for listing. The department understands that Malaysian import permits will not be issued for dairy products that were processed in establishments not registered by the DVS.
The application process remains unchanged. Further information regarding the application procedure and required documentation can be found at the departments Manual of Importing Country Requirements (MICoR).
Exporters are encouraged to work closely with their importers to ensure the validity of their listing and compliance of with Malaysian regulations.
