The Australian Government is accountable for ensuring the Future Drought Fund supports genuine improvements in drought preparedness and resilience.
To do this, we:
- monitor and evaluate the fund’s effectiveness, efficiency, appropriateness and impact
- capture lessons learnt within each program.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Framework
The MEL Framework outlines the approach to monitoring and evaluating the fund and its programs. It will support the measurement of the fund’s progress and achievements over time. This will help identify improvements for the programs in the future.
The framework applies to the period of the Drought Resilience Funding Plan 2020 to 2024.
It will provide program managers with the information needed to:
- allocate resources efficiently and effectively
- show how investments under the fund are used appropriately.
