AWTG 01-22 noted an update from Queensland that the independent scientific literature review to inform the development of the new standards and guidelines was completed in February 2022 and has been published on the AWTG website. AWTG 01-22 also noted that the stakeholder advisory group (SAG) commenced formal meetings and has met three times to date (in December 2021, February and March 2022). An independent facilitator has been engaged to lead SAG meetings. The SAG will continue to meet regularly in 2022.

Queensland is finalising a consultation regulatory impact statement (CRIS) to seek feedback on the costs, benefits and impacts of the proposed options. The CRIS will be published on the Office of Best Practice Regulation website (obpr.pmc.gov.au) when consultation opens. Key stakeholders will be directly notified by the AWTG when consultation opens and will be encouraged to share the opportunity with their members and networks.
