Staff from the department recently travelled to Nadi, Fiji to pilot a biosecurity training program.
The new Pacific Export Pathway Operational Training Program aims to help Organisations with staff working along the plant export pathway learn to identify biosecurity risks.
The program was delivered to 47 participants that included, government officers, exporters, fumigation specialists and representatives of Pacific trade organisations.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our staff to meet and partner with export stakeholders in Fiji also working in trade.
The full program will be rolled out in Fiji later this year. Ongoing delivery of this training will help strengthen Fiji’s biosecurity system and support increased economic growth and food security throughout the region.
