Delegates from around the region gathered in Rockhampton on Wednesday 25 July and discussed the key issues for agriculture at sessions focussed on Creating value in an increasingly connected world; Creating value in the beef industry and Cropping in a changing environment. The opening address was provided by Michelle Landry MP, federal Member for Capricornia.
As well as the ABARES speakers examining the big picture issues affecting Queensland and the key commodities outlook and issues, delegates heard from Rohan Rainbow, AgTech Centric on digital agriculture; Peter Stone, Bureau of Meteorology on weather and climate information; Matthew Barnes, Australian Soil Planners; Ray Vella from Bald Hills as well as other speakers.
