The National Water Initiative (NWI) is Australia’s blueprint for water reform, with governments across Australia agreeing on actions to achieve a cohesive approach for managing, planning, pricing and trading Australia’s water resources.

Policy guidelines for the NWI were established to assist jurisdictions develop and implement NWI-consistent water planning and management arrangements. A series of modules were agreed to, to provide further guidance on specific issues.

This module provides guidance to jurisdictions on how to consider and incorporate possible impacts from climate change and extreme events in water planning and management.
