This report presents a synthesis of insights from the Regional Wellbeing Survey (2013-2016) on the socio-economic effects of Commonwealth water recovery in the Murray–Darling Basin, focusing on the Australian Government’s on and off-farm water recovery programs and water purchasing.

This report is based on the key findings of three technical reports which were commissioned by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources from the University of Canberra.
