32-2017 - Severe weather in South East Queensland Update

30 March 2017

Who does this notice affect?

Selected Department of Agriculture and Water Resources clients and stakeholders.

What has changed?

Central to South East Queensland is experiencing a severe weather event as a result of ex-tropical cyclone Debbie.

The Mackay office remains closed following the cyclone and we have now also closed the Gladstone, Bundaberg and Toowoomba offices.

Following the advice of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services all staff in Brisbane will be sent home by 12pm (1pm AEDT) today, this is with the exception of essential airport operational staff at Brisbane and Coolangatta where minimum staff will continue to process incoming passengers as those airports remain open.

The Veterinary and Export Meat Services team are confirming individual arrangements with meat establishments in affected areas.

We expect offices to be open again tomorrow and will update if there are changes to this advice.
