Food testing requirements for appointed analysts

Requirements for appointed analysts under the Imported Food Inspection Scheme

Laboratories that conduct testing on samples taken under the Imported Food Inspection Scheme must be appointed as analysts under Section 34 of the Imported Food Control Act 1992.

To be an appointed analyst, a laboratory must meet the requirements stipulated in the following documents:

Applying to become an appointed analyst

Laboratories can apply to become an appointed analyst if they can comply with all of the requirements stipulated in the above mentioned documents.

Before applying, the laboratory must determine if their system has the capability to report electronically via the eResults system. The following three documents specify the eResults external system requirements:
