Renewing your licence

The procedure for licence renewal is identical to that for the initial application for a licence.

The licence application charge will also apply to renewals, and must be submitted at the time of submitting the application. For more information please see the departments charging guidelines.

Applicants for renewal of a licence should allow 40 business days for the department to assess a complete and accurate application. However, due to complexities that may arise during the assessment of an application, additional time may be required to complete the assessment.

Licence variations

A licence-holder may apply to vary the particulars of a licence, such as:

  • operations and governance manual
  • species permitted to be exported under the licence
  • mode of transport
  • person in management and control
  • business details such as ABN, partnership details, contact details.

Licence-holders who wish to vary their licence must complete the ‘Variation to Livestock Export Licence' form and submit it to the department's Live Animal Export Branch national office.

Associated fees and charges

The licence application charge for renewing an export licence is the same as for a new licence. The applicant must pay at the time of submitting the application. The application charge may be paid by credit card.

There is a licence variation application charge which the applicant must pay at the time of submitting the application. The variation application charge may be paid by credit card.
