ABOUT US
Australian Online Government Initiative
Aim of the Australian Online Government Initiative is to make all levels of government Internet information and services visible, accessible and usable. Consequently several Commonwealth government agencies have been given the task of creating subject specialist portals. These portals allow all government clients to access government information and services via these portals for the subject they are interested in.

Why have Government Portals?
Subject specialist portals ensure government clients no longer need to guess which level of government they need to access to find the information or service they are looking for. Each portal is designed to cater for its specific clientele and subject content.
The content of portals is primarily metadata ie catalogue records that provide you with access to information and services on Australian Government websites.
